The Filmmaker's Eye is about developing visual awareness. Students learn to observe the world around them, recognise interesting images and make deliberate creative choices about composition, light, movement and perspective.

Practical learning
Students work on location and in different environments, using photography and video exercises to explore how filmmakers find and create interesting images.
They will be encouraged to look beyond the obvious and consider why an image works, what it communicates and how it could contribute to a story.
Who is it for?
Suitable for students beginning to explore film and media, as well as students who already have technical skills but want to develop their creativity and visual decision-making.
Course outcome
Students develop greater confidence in composing images, using their environment creatively and making intentional visual choices. The aim is simple: to help students stop simply recording what is in front of the camera and start thinking like filmmakers.
